01

What does a business need before applying for funding?

Lenders commonly review time in business, revenue, cash flow, existing debt, personal and business credit, industry risk, and the completeness of your application. Prepare financial statements, bank statements, formation documents, identification, and a clear explanation of how you will use the funds.

02

How are personal and business credit different?

Personal credit connects to you as an individual. Business credit connects to your company’s legal identity. Many small-business lenders review both, especially when the company is new or the owner signs a personal guarantee.

03

What can legally come off a credit report?

Credit bureaus must investigate properly submitted disputes about information that is inaccurate or incomplete. Accurate negative information generally remains until the legal reporting period ends. A credit repair company cannot promise to remove accurate information.

04

How should I prepare before forming an LLC?

Choose the owners, state, management structure, business name, registered agent, business purpose, and basic ownership terms. Plan for an EIN, operating agreement, business bank account, licenses, bookkeeping, and ongoing state filings.
